What home charging costs by province
The energy charge on a residential bill in each province, plus the cheapest overnight or EV-specific plan where the utility offers one. These are the numbers that set the value of a charging reward: a 10¢/kWh program on a 3.9¢ overnight rate is very different from one on a 19¢ flat rate. Utility pages and rate documents are re-checked daily.

How to read this
- Figures are the energy charge only. Delivery/distribution, riders, fixed daily or monthly charges, provincial rebates on bills and taxes are on top — and in Alberta and Ontario those can exceed the energy charge itself.
- Default plan shows the rate that applies to typical overnight charging (off-peak, first tier or flat). Best EV / overnight is an opt-in plan where one exists; the monthly cost uses it when available.
- Rates change on fixed dates (Ontario Nov 1, Québec and BC Apr 1, etc.); the effective date shown is from the utility's own page or rate document.
