HOV lanes, tolls and other road perks for EVs

Three provinces let electric vehicles use carpool lanes with a single occupant; Québec also waives its toll bridges and ferries — for now. Everything else in Canada is a plain road for EVs (and a couple of provinces charge an annual EV fee instead). Official pages are re-checked daily, so a change in the rules shows up here.

Annual EV fees

The flip side of the perks: some provinces charge EV owners a yearly amount at registration to replace the fuel tax they don't pay. Official bulletins are re-checked daily.
