EV perks in Manitoba (2026)

Purchase rebates
The federal EVAP incentive gives $5,000 on a new battery EV and $2,500 on a plug-in hybrid, until March 31, 2031 or while funds last ($50,000 final transaction value price cap). Manitoba adds $4,000 (BEV) / $4,000 (PHEV) and $2,500 on a used BEV through EV Rebate Program (MSRP $70,000 (new) / purchase price $70,000 (used)), for up to $9,000 stacked on a new battery EV.

HOV lanes, tolls and road perks
No EV-specific HOV or toll privileges (Manitoba has no HOV lanes on provincial highways).
Electricity rates for charging
Manitoba Hydro's default residential plan, Residential energy charge, charges 9.97¢/kWh (energy only). There is no EV or overnight plan, so 9.97¢/kWh is what home charging costs. Rates effective April 1, 2026.
